5 Times Republicans Threatened to Impeach Obama Over Nothing

Donald Trump seems to be running in the GOP's "hypocrite lane"— honking his horn as loudly as he can since he took office in January. Everything from leaking classified information to foreign officials, to risking American lives with military operations that had little thought given to their safety beforehand, to using and abusing Executive Orders daily - Trump has made it his mission to embody everything the GOP has been railing against from the start of Obama's first day in office.

Rather than stick to their principles, the GOP has tailgated Trump right into the "Party First, America Last" toll road, which only costs them their spine, soul, and an American flag-pin they can ironically wear on their lapel.

In the face of treason, obstruction of justice,  and failure of Trump to uphold his oath as Commander-in-Chief — the GOP has repeatedly stated that they want to "wait till they have all the facts" and make sure "not to rush to judgement."

Which anyone with a working brain knows, that is political doublespeak for "we are waiting till this whole thing blows over."

To show how spineless these flag-sucking halfwits are, all you have to do is look at how many times the Representatives themselves screamed "IMPEACHMENT!" over everything from Obama's birth place to being too liberal to allowing students to pick which bathroom they want to piss in.

Impeachment Offense #1:  Being Black

At a town hall meeting with constituents, Congressman Blake Farenthold said that Obama should be impeached due to issues with Obama's birth certificate. Farenthold said that he thinks that "the House is already out of the barn on this, on the whole birth certificate issue."

Despite the GOP's silence over Ted Cruz being born in Canada, Republicans wanted to impeach Obama because he didn't look like the other Presidents and therefore must be faking his birth-certificate.

Somehow, it seems like their calls for impeachment were not based on facts or principle, but rather on the fact that they have a white hood in their carry-on and they want to find a way to wear it in public.

Impeachment Offense #2: Allowing Students to Pick Which Bathroom They Want To Piss-In

In May 2016, the Oklahoma Legislature filed a measure asking the representatives from Oklahoma in the House of Representatives to impeach Obama, the U.S. attorney general, the U.S. secretary of education and any other administration officials involved in the decision to allow transgender students to use the bathrooms corresponding to their gender identity.

Now if Republicans were really worried about women and children's safety, they should focus on banning Trump from all public restrooms. But, I am guessing Mike Pence is fine with that moral contradiction.

Impeachment Offense #3 Being Liberal

In August 2011, Republican Congressman Michael C. Burgess of Texas agreed with a rally audience member that the impeachment of Barack Obama "needs to happen" in order to prevent Obama from "pushing his agenda". Burgess did not mention any grounds for impeachment.

Wait we can impeach Republicans for pushing an agenda? Thanks for the permission, Congressmen Burgess!

Impeachment Offense # 4 Obama Appointing a Republican

In May 2010, Republican Darrell Issa of California stated that the allegation that the White House had offered Pennsylvania Representative Joe Sestak a job to persuade Sestak to drop out of the Pennsylvania Senate primary election against Arlen Specter "is one that everyone from Arlen Spector to Dick Morris has said is in fact a crime, and could be impeachable".

Trump nominated his children and their partners to incredibly high-level administration posts. Where is Congressman Issa to stand for justice!?

Impeachment Offense #5 For the IRS Taxing Conservatives

On August 19, 2013, Republican Congressman Kerry Bentivolio stated that if he could write articles of impeachment, "it would be a dream come true". During the same interview, Bentivolio called the press "the most corrupt thing in Washington," and said that he was looking to tie the White House to the IRS targeting controversy "as evidence of impeachment."

Kerry Bentivollio was also the Republican who famously claimed that people "don't care" about Trump tax returns and thinks he should be exempt from releasing them. He further voted to block Democratic Resolutions on the House floor that would have forced Trump to release his tax returns.

Who cares about IRS transparency when it's your guy in office #AmIRite?
